As you know 2010 was a great year for the Loftus family. Like so many other years, it had it’s ups and downs, but thankfully mostly ups. Let’s recap. In 2010, (in no particular order)

  • I watched my belly grow to epic proportions!
  • OMFG, I had a baby… without drugs
  • I’ve been pooped on, peed on, puked on, spit on… and all in the same day
  • Many of our friends and family now have new babies or are expecting (look out, there’s something in the water)
  • Our beloved George was diagnosed with Vaccine Associated Fibrosarcoma
  • We made the difficult decision to have George euthanized after a 10-month battle with cancer
  • We cleaned out the garage and got rid of years worth of accumulated crap
  • We got Jamie Oliver’s “Food Revolution” book and started cooking like crazy — then fell off the wagon when Gabe was born. Doh!
  • I got a Sony A200 DSLR for my birthday and documented the hell out of the year
  • Inspired by this video, I got a ukulele for Christmas and am learning to play it
  • My WoW character dinged 80 (yes, I am a tremendous dork and I love it)
  • I FINALLY ditched Verizon and went with Sprint. So far, I’m a happy girl.
  • Completed many awesome craft projects — from diapers to mobiles and everything in between.
  • I continue to watch my beautiful child grow and develop. He makes me burst with pride and adoration that I never imagined possible. Thanks, little buddy!

So what’s up for 2011?? I don’t know for sure… You know how fond I am of resolutions, but there are a few goals I’d like to accomplish.

Be a little greener. For one, I’d like to phase out the use of all plastic storage containers in our kitchen. (In fact, we’re running to the store this afternoon to pick up a starter set.) Additionally, I want to be a little better about the paper usage and recycling in our house.

Be crafty! More projects and more sewing, and hopefully document that stuff here.

Organize my closet! It’s a jungle in there!!

Get more fit. Yeah, I know this sort of falls under the diet category, but I’m not all that interested in weight loss. What does interest me is taking better care of myself. I’m finding it insanely hard to do anything other than housework with Gabe around (and that’s spotty at best). But I’m going to try to get out and get active this year.

So there you have it… my short list of personal goals. What are you hoping to accomplish? And here’s Gabe to wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year:
