Since I know so many new mammas and (some not so new) out there, I thought I’d share some of my favorite baby products. I figure, I’ve had a year to figure out just what works for us. I’m sure the list will change down the road, but here’s what I’ve got now.

Earth’s Best: Extra Rich Therapy Creme. Gabriel has some mild eczema that flares up from time to time. This was the only lotion that I found rich enough to really soften and improve his rough patches. Plus, it smells awesome and is great on rough hands too. :) My only complaint is the packaging. It’s a little ridiculous with the flip top… Gabriel threw our first tub of the stuff on the floor, breaking the latch on the top. Grrr.

GroVia Magic Stick. Cloth diapering calls for special diaper ointments… You can’t use anything with zinc oxide or petroleum based oils because you could make the cloth repel—and that would be very bad! So your standard Desitin or A&D is right out. I like the sick because it’s light enough for every day and you never get any on you hands. Plus it smells wonderful.

Not like you care, but every so often Gabriel gets a little diaper rash. In which case, I need something a little more protective than the Magic Stick. So I turn to OGBaby Barrier Balm. It’s completely fragrance free, and it protects his tender bits when he needs it most. Also, I use this at bedtime when I know he’s going to be wearing that diaper for a while.

California Baby Diaper Area Wash is perfect for prepping his cute little butt for wiping.
We also use cloth wipes in this house and I LOVE Monkeez Bamboo Wipes. They’re super soft and luxurious, and much cheaper than the Prince Lionheart bamboo wipes (which are rough and don’t hold up well to repeated washings). Plus they’re great for wiping dirty faces.
Of course I realize every family is different. I’m sure there are those of you who think I’m nuts for using cloth diapers/wipes, but it works for us. :) I just wanted to share our favorites.
