Those who know me well, know that I sing in a contemporary “rock” choir at my church. (I say rock because we have electric accompaniment, and a few of the songs in our repertoire fall into a more rockin’ category.) Mike and I have been doing this for a couple of years. Now that Gabe is in the picture, Mike has taken some time off for me to continue doing so. Thanks, Babe! Oftentimes, my role is to sing lead vocal (cantor) on psalms and other hymns. Now I’m not going to get all religious on you, but the lyrics to this song really speak to me. Despite my mom forcing encouraging me to go to church growing up, I’ve always sort of felt like a “fringe Catholic” — not really into it, but not totally out. Singing is probably the only thing that gets me to Church. Most of the time the music is just church music to me, but there is one song that I occasionally have the pleasure to sing — and I love it every time.
A Song That Inspires You
“My Life is In Your Hands” – Kathy Troccoli
This version is WAY CHEESY: consider yourself warned. I happen to like the version I do better. :) And No, I’m not going to record myself.
